Workshop
This is where software ends and physics begins. I’ve always been more interested in understanding how things actually work than in having them work by accident. That applies to code and to metal equally.
Motorcycle Suspension
The main obsession. Suspension geometry, linkage ratios, spring rates, damping curves — the interaction between rider, chassis, and road surface is a genuinely complex dynamic system, and getting it right requires understanding the whole chain, not just adjusting clickers.
Current and past work includes:
- Linkage ratio analysis and re-engineering
- Spring selection and preload calculation
- Damping setup and tuning methodology
- Geometry changes and their effects on handling balance
- Fork and shock servicing
CNC Machining
Access to a lathe and mill means that when the right part doesn’t exist, you make it. Work has included custom suspension components, brackets, adapters, and anything else that requires tighter tolerances than a grinder can provide.
Electronics & Embedded Systems
Hardware interfaces, microcontrollers, sensors — systems that sit between software and the physical world. Interested in the full stack from firmware to the mechanical actuator it controls.
Audio / MIDI Tools
Building tools around musical workflow and signal processing — custom MIDI controllers, audio routing, and live-performance tools where off-the-shelf solutions don’t fit the use case.
General Fabrication
Welding, fitting, and fabricating mechanical assemblies. Not a trade background, but a working knowledge built up from solving specific problems.
Specific builds and projects to be documented here over time.
