Music has been a constant long enough that it’s just part of how I spend some of my time, not something I need to explain or justify :)

Playing

Bass, primarily. Guitar, some keyboards. Band context — rehearsals, writing, performing. Not a session musician, not a solo project: the band format where the whole is supposed to be more than its parts.

Audio tooling

Some of the audio work is closer to engineering than to playing. The most involved of those so far is an Apple Silicon driver for the long-discontinued E-MU USB audio interfaces — a Core Audio plug-in, a pile of USB protocol archaeology, and a test bench that grew a mixer.
